.Signal Integrity /EMC Pro Tune Up 5 2010
Versin 5 is simply the next evolution in the Pro Tune Up series. In version 5 we have added a substantial amount of material on power delivery issues. These include DC drop, AC power pin bypassing, plane resonance, and signal via impedance when piercing the Power Ground planes.

Aside from the enhanced section on power delivery, Pro Tune Up 5 is simply a refined version of Pro Tune Up 5. Since there is always a time, crunch many of the labs have been video recorded to enable students to do the labs after the class.

New Class... Signal Integrity /EMC Pro Tune Up 4 2009
Pro Tune Up is a class specifically aimed at people who need the fast track to high speed system design competency. If you are implementing High Speed Digital or Mixed Analogue-Digital Systems and wish to eliminate the common errors that result in board spins, this is the class for you. I have added a section filtering and shielding because of the spate of "chips from hell" I have encountered recently. I have also added a much more robust section on power delivery, ground bounce, and plane noise / plane resonance.

Mentor Graphics Sponsoring SI/EMC Pro Tune Up 4 for 2009
Mentor Graphics owns about 70% of the Signal Integrity tools market. In an effort to get more business, they have decided to sponsor SI/EMC Pro Tune Up classes around North America. The logic is fairly simple. If you want to sell more pianos, you can either produce specialty piano to fight for the 30% market you have not captured or you can sponsor piano lessons to help create more piano players. That is what they are doing here. They are subsidizing generic SI, PI, EMC training.

Since Mentor does much of the heavy lifting for advertising, I can offer the class in many locations that would be economically impossible otherwise.

Both SI/EMC Pro Tune Up and JumpStart are a High Speed System Design Methods classes. They are not tool classes or a Mentor tools infomercial. They are tool agnostic. However, with Mentor's sponsorship, my costs are reduced so I pass that savings on to you in the form of a lower tuition. Hence the normal $795 tuition has been reduced to $695 ( with early registration ) in Q3& Q4 of 2008 and Q3 & Q4 of 2009.

Remember the lower tuition only applies if you make your reservation 10 days in advance of the class and confirm it with a Credit Card, PO or Check a 5 days in advance of the class. We need to order food, and adequate computers for the labs..and that takes time
